September 2008The Tom Crean course is launched at Neptune Outdoor Adventure Activity and Education centre. A third level course being run in conjunction with Drogheda Institute of Further Education and accredited by FETAC. Open to school leavers and mature applicants students complete up to nine modules in adventure activities, leadership and general studies. Successful candidates are awarded a FETAC level 5 certificate in Outdoor Recreation. Presented by Today FM DJ Ian Dempsey at a gala dinner and award ceremony in Dundalk. January 2009Neptune Outdoor Adventure Activity and Education centre are announced as finalists in the LAMA awards in two categories, best recreation provider and best environmental building. Nominated by local councillor Oliver Tully. |
