Kayaking

Donning a wet suit, we take you out around the coast line of Clogherhead, Co Louth in our fleet of Kayaks. Fully supervised by our qualified instructors, Kayaking with Neptune Outdoor Education is a wonderful way to enjoy our coastal setting. No experience is necessary and all safety training and equipment is provided for you.

We are delighted to offer you our newest activity, river kayaking. Taking you along the historic Boyne valley just a stones throw from Knowth, Dowth and Newgrange, this is not white water rafting...but a wonderful introduction to river kayaking.

At Neptune, we cater for all levels of ability.

So if Kayaking is something that you have seen, and fancied trying, we would love to be your first time.

Fostering your learning curve we will take you through the thrills and spills of controlled capsizing, combat rolls and learning to read the water.

Experts in water based activities, we at Neptune relish the challenging and ever changing weather conditions that our east coast setting offers us.

Just half an hour north of Dublin Airport, we enjoy repeat visits from many of our groups the length and breadth of Ireland. We are told that the stunning scenery, the ever changing seas, the variety of challenges faced and our professional “safety first” yet fun approach are what bring kayak enthusiasts back to Neptune time after time.

The beauty of sea kayaking with Neptune is that kayaking is a true hard skill.

Like learning to ride a bike, the experience earned while learning about your safety in the water will hold you in good stead, should you deviate in later life to partake in jet skiing, power boating, sailing….or any water based pastime.

Also a fantastic team sport, we have developed many group activities that will challenge your team work and communication skills.

Multi Activity - Fun, Fun, Fun.

Louth. Starting the day at 10am doing a range of out land activities – Karting, Archery, Orienteering or Rock-wall Climbing and Abseiling. And after lunch we hit the water with some great activities. Rib-rides, Banana Boat Rides, Sailing Rides as well as our classics of Pier-Jumping, Surfing and Kayaking. Then, when all are exhausted, head home happy at 4pm.

Wicklow. Start the day with a range of team-building activities, including: Assult Courses, Orienteering, Treasure Hunt, Atomic-Bomb Challenge, Minefield & Capture the Flag. Then after lunch complete the secret challenge!!

Bonding Programme - Improving Group Dynamics

Wicklow or Louth

The group starts with our crystal maze challenge. Teams compete against each other completing a series of tasks designed to bring out leadership, communication and problem solving qualities amoung other skills. Points are awarded for successful completion. Meanwhile, out team monitors each person.

After lunch, teams compete in the raft building challenge. The materials they get are based on the points they where awarded in the morning session and the best comstruction usually wins! Uniquely, out team writes a report on each participant; sent back to the school within a week.

The Overnighters

Any combination of outdoor activities from the other options. PLUS Unite the group by staying in out Failte Ireland approved accommodation with the teachers staying close by, in our lodge. Students are under constant supervision. All meals, activities and local travel are covered.

For our 2-nigth package add in cinema, bowling or rock-climbing as and evening activity and the extra day can include Sailing rides, Indoor Karting, Archery or Hill Walking.

New Skills - Certified Courses

We are also happy to deliver specific skills-based courses such as Kayaking, Sailing or Orienteering,
with certification by sporting bodies – up to Fetac Level-5 on the national framework qualifications.
